CELEBRATING ONE-HUNDRED YEARS OF AMERICA’S LEGENDARY RODEO. 1910-2010
In the beginning, the PENDLETON ROUND-UP was hailed as “a frontier exhibition of picturesque pastimes, Indian and Military spectacles, cowboy racing and bronco busting for the championship of the Northwest.” A crowd of 7,000 gathered for the first show on September 19, 1910.
Through two world wars and a great depression, the Round-Up persevered. Spectators from across the U.S. and around the world made the trek to Pendleton in larger and larger numbers. A century on, more than 50,000 people descend on Pendleton every year for the four-day show. And the phrase that embodies it all: LET’ER BUCK!
